Hey Rachel,

I absolutely adore you. You act, wakeboard, play guitar, and sing. That is amazing. I do all of those as well. I do all the plays at my school and also the plays at our local recital halls. Where did you get your start? I was reading your Bio and it said you went to a camp in LA. What was that camp called? I hope to see more of you on the big screen.

Jordan Myers - Destin, Florida | US

Hey Jordan,
Thanks for Asking the Fox. The camp that I went to is called tvi and it is in Sherman Oaks. When I think back about it, it was an incredible experience. It was so much fun, but it was a ton of work and we had to perform on the spot many times throughout the week. I learned what a cold reading is, how to improv, how to audition, and a lot of other things. Then there was the showcase night when the agents and managers go and watch you. If you go, have a blast and be yourself.
For the big screen, the two movies I've filmed should be out in theatres in 2011. One is called Spork and the other is called Dream House. They're very different movies, but both are fantastic!
Break a leg, Jordan!
From the heart,
Rachel

Hi Rachel!
I loved you on desperate housewives, well not your character, but your acting!
my question is how did you get into the business? and do you have any advice for aspiring actresses like myself?
hope you have time to write back!

Kirstin - Toronto, Ontario | Canada

Hi Kirstin,
You are so sweet and thanks for saying you love my acting on Desperate Housewives. It is so fun playing evil characters, and playing Kayla on DH was the best. She was patterned after the little girl in the movie, The Bad Seed, from a long time ago. After I wateched The Bad Seed, I understood what the directors of DH were looking for and I added my own flair to Kayla and people hated her! So I did my job....
How did I get into the business? I was too young to remember but my mom said she sent regular photos to agents in Ohio and they called and signed me. I did some print work and commercials there and also was offered a part in a very scary indie movie that I did not do. I did other stuff, too, like theatre. One summer, my family took a vacation to California and we just never left because a couple of agents saw me at a showcase and that was it. My advice is to do what you love and your passion will take you where you should be. Love every minute of what you do!
Thanks for Asking the Fox, Kirstin!
From the heart,
Rachel

Hey Rachel! You are such an amazing actress! I can totally see u getting an Oscar one day :) I act too but just locally so far like I've just done commercials and printwork. I really want to act in LA though because the market is so much better there. How did you convince ur parents to move from Ohio to LA, CA for your career. Thanks for the help!!
-Courtney

Courtney Carter - Largo, Florida | 33777

Hi Courtney!
You are so sweet. Ahh.... an Oscar. Thank you for the highest compliment about my acting. I appreciate your sharing your thoughts and look forward to the day..... :)

I didn't convince my parents to move. It just evolved. We went to Los Angeles for a vacation and I went to an acting camp, while my sister went to a tennis camp. We had no idea about scripts, sides, callbacks, showcases, agents, managers, or any of that stuff. At the acting camp, they had a show case and after we performed, agents called my parents to sign me and we never left. I went back to Ohio a couple months later to pack up my stuff and we've been in Los Angeles ever since.

I'd say just keep doing what you passionately love. You will love every minute of the journey -- tough times and easy times -- but you will be doing what you were born to do.

Can't wait to see you on the red carpet in the future. Vive la Oscar!

From the heart,
Rachel

Hey Rachel :)
I was wondering what the link was to your facebook? because you said the picture was of you in a white shirt at the shrek premiere and i couldn't find it. so yeah ahah :) btw, i just wanted to let you know that your such an amazing actress and i need to go see your new movie! like today . hahaha

Kami - Las Vegas, NV | United States

Hey Kami,
Yeah, guess I should use a diff way to describe my fbook since we all change our fb photo a lot. (I'm not allowed on facebook alone, unless one of my parents is sitting next to me.) There's a link at the top of my homepage that you can always click on to get to my facebook and twitter and then you won't get a fake one. As of August 2010, it's a black shirt with me turned sideways, looking over my shoulder.
Thanks for saying that I'm an amazing actress! It is the sweetest, biggest compliment that you can say and I really appreciate your kindness.
From the heart,
Rachel

ArrowHi Rachel! I'm Cassie! I'm a HUGE FAN! And umm, I'm going through a really rough time right now....
Image_spork_july_5

Hi Rachel! I'm Cassie! I'm a HUGE FAN! And umm, I'm going through a really rough time right now. People from my school are being REALLY mean to me and spreading all these bad rumors about me that aren't even true. Someone from my school is putting notes in peoples desk and saying bad stuff about them and pretending to be someone else and people keep calling me and asking: "Are you the person whose putting notes on people's desk?" and I'd be like "no" and they still don't believe me! Every night, I would be crying because of that, and I just can't take it anymore!! PLEASE HELP ='(

Sincerely,
Cassie

Cassandra Sarcauga - Bergenfield, New Jersey | United States

Hi Cassie!
I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Even though school is out by now, you may still be feeling the sting from it. I think so many people go through stuff like this, you know, people being mean to them.

Listen to this song I wrote and recorded called Long to Belong.

I wrote it a couple of years ago when this one particular girl was being so mean at school. It was like a torture chamber and I couldn't shake it off. I used to sing this song over and over again and it finally just sinks in that if you are happy in your own skin, then everything really does fall into place. It's not immediate and it's not perfect, but it happens just right.

The other thing is to watch out for the movie Spork. I filmed it last July and it premiered at Tribeca recently. It is about sort of what you're going through. Spork is awesome because it gives everyone hope that things get better.... that you shouldn't do anything scary or drastic. Just hold on to your family and friends and things do get better.

One more thing.... that girl that was so mean to me..... we're now really good friends. She even apologized and we really do hang out. Don't give up. Life is so funny...

From the heart,
Rachel

Here are the lyrics.....
Long to Belong

Verse 1:

Start each day complete and whole
At each day's end
A piece of me gets stolen away
and I can't pretend that I
Don't want to Belong

Verse 2:

No body wants to stand alone
Or feel like they
have to be on their own
they shouldn't have to pretend
they don't want to fit in

Chorus:

Long to belong
Just want to be me
Not too strong
(And I don't want to..)
Long to belong
Be free to be free
I just want to be me

Verse 3:

I start each day complete and whole
At each day's end
I decide how I'll win
Be happy in my own skin
And I won't give in

Bridge:

Should I wave hello?
Or will they think I'm strange?
Should I say something more?
Why am I afraid?

Chorus:

Long to belong
Just want to be me
Not too strong
(And I don't want to..)
Long to belong
Be free to be free
I just want to be me

PS - You can download it from iTunes if you want to play this on your iPod. :)

ArrowHi Rachel, I was wondering when is the movie you were in Spork is going to come out? Also, how...
Image_image_tennis_pic_for_twit_oct_09

Hi Rachel,

I was wondering when is the movie you were in Spork is going to come out? Also, how are you able to have a normal life? like know who your true friends are? How big a tennis fan are you besides acting?

Stephie Prince - Porter Ranch, California | USA

Hi Stephie,
Thanks for your cool questions. First, Spork is an independent film, which means they create it and shoot it and then a distributor buys it either at a film festival or from seeing it or knowing about it from somewhere else.
An example of one film that was an independent film is Little Miss Sunshine. It premiered at Sundance and a distributor bought it and put it in theatres and it was extremely successful.
Spork recently premiered at Tribeca Film Festival to absolute rave reviews. It has recently been accepted to screen at the London Film Festival in October. The minute, no the second it has a distributor, you'll hear me scream from excitement because Spork is a film with a heart, a lesson, and so much love all around it. It is an amazing movie with amazing actors -- Beth Grant, Yeardley Smith, Elaine Hendrix, Rodney Eastman, Keith David, Savannah Stehlin, Sydney Park, Michael Arnold -- anyway, you can tell that I love Spork and will post a Twitter the minute a distributor buys it.
I don't know if my life is very normal. I'd say most people who are working when they are young, don't have a normal life. To me, it's perfect that way. I don't always know who my true friends are in the beginning, but the ones who are true, well, it comes out eventually, and the fake ones fall away.
You asked how big of a tennis fan am I? Huge! I love tennis. In fact, last night, I watched the 2010 Wimbledon semi-final -- Rafael Nadal vs. Andy Murray. I love to watch and play tennis and look forward to going to Wimbledon in person..... we're thinking in 2011! Can't wait! Thanks for Asking the Fox.

From the heart,
Rachel

How did you become famouse? and how old where you?

Rhiannon Page - royston, england | united kingdom

Hi Rhiannon,
I don't think I ever thought about it.... famous, hmmmm.... People recognized me on the street after I did an episode of That's So Raven. I'm guessing that's kind of what you mean. I was 9 years old and I played Buffy, Muffy's little sister. Sydney Park played Raven's little sister. Sydney and I worked together on the movie, Spork, which recently premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
There are many kinds of famous and I think the best kind is when it happens and you don't really work at it but you work really hard at your passion and the thing you were born to do. If becoming famous happens and you enjoy it, then it's cool.
Thanks for your unique and smart question.
My family will be coming to England in summer of 2011. I cannot wait to see your beautiful country in person!
From the heart,
Rachel
