Los Angeles, Calif. - From Evil Kayla to Betsy Byotch.  Spork is the latest, most-talked-about Indie film in Hollywood these days. Some are calling it a cross between the best of Goonies and Little Miss Sunshine. Spork is not High School Musical.

“I love High School Musical and all of the Disney shows and movies,” commented Rachel. “But Spork is way different. It’s more about real people, with real issues, and real characteristics. It’s hysterically funny because it pokes fun at silly stereotypes and silly people, but at the same time, it is very intelligent and makes some very strong points about not judging people and about loving everyone for who they are and not how they appear. You’ll see high school students interacting, singing, and dancing, but Spork is not your High School Musical.”

Spork is scheduled to shoot this summer in Los Angeles. J.B. Ghuman Jr., Spork’s writer, is set to direct.  Along with Rachel as Betsy Byotch, Savannah Stehlin (Hannah Montana, Without a Trace) is cast as Spork, Oana Gregory plays Loosie Goosie, and Sydney Park (Entourage, Hannah Montana) joins the cast as Tootsie Roll. Michael William Arnold (Opposite Day, My Name is Khan) plays Charlie, Spork's confidant and friend.

Also starring are Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men, Little Miss Sunshine), Yeardley Smith (Lisa Simpson of The Simpsons), Chad Allen (Save Me, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman), Keith David (Coraline, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Crash), and Richard Riehle (The Man from Earth, Stitch in Time, We Got the Beat).
