Bandslam Movie Premiere
Must See Movie, Bandslam, in Theatres August 14, 2009
It’s the kind of movie you go to and think, “I just don’t know what to expect.” You come out saying, “Awesome!” I went into the theatre to see Bandslam knowing that Vanessa Hudgens played the droney quirky girl and Aly Michalka played the popular beauty, and that there were bands and music. That’s all I knew.
Bandslam rocks! Both Vanessa Hudgens and Aly Michalka are believable and real. Gaelen Connell plays the lead role of Will Burton, a not-terribly-popular high school boy. He is both believable and likable and is strong enough to be great next to these two screen veterans. Lisa Kudrow is a fantastic lead as Will’s mother, Karen. She was amazing enough to make me get close to my tissue.
I also loved the drummer, Basher Martin, played by Ryan Donowho and the bassist, Bug, played by Charlie Saxton. The band, The Burning Hotels, was excellent along with a lot of other great musicians. And I don’t want to spoil the surprise but an iconic musician is in the movie and everyone in the audience made a roomwide gasp when he showed on the screen.
Bandslam starts a little slowly, but hold tight. This movie rocks and you will love it.
