Oahu, Hawaii
Hi Everyone!
My family and I just came from an awesome spring break vacation on the island Oahu, Hawaii. This trip was filled with everything from parasailing 1000 feet over the ocean to hiking in Oahu’s lush and green the Waimea Valley. It was full of the most beautiful nature scenes and the sunsets in the evening were absolutely breath-taking!
One of the most memorable things of the week was when we traveled to the beaches of the North Shore. There, we swam in huge 7 foot waves and climbed up a 25 foot high rock and then jumped off it. The rock is called Jump Rock. It was such a thrill.
Other things we did that day were go to the Dole Pineapple Plantation and hike the Waimea Valley. The Dole Plantation was cool because they had a pineapple maze that was named the biggest maze in the world in 2008. My sister and I had the best time running through the huge maze and exploring all of its nooks and crannies.
Later that day, we walked and explored the Waimea Valley which is actually more like a rain forest. At the end of the 3 mile path, there is this large rushing water fall surrounded by green mountainous scenery. More nooks, crannies, and secret path ways were hidden in the forest alongside vibrantly colored flowers and plants.
Two more very crazy and fun experiences we had were snorkeling with an incredible array of fish and parasailing 1,000 feet above the ocean. The day we went snorkeling was extra special because we got a visit from a more rare sea creature…a sea turtle. My mom, dad, sister, and I all swam alongside this not very shy sea turtle and enjoyed looking at all the different fish. Some fish we saw include Angel Fish, Rainbow Fish, Cat Fish, Sea Bass, Sea Urchins, Puffer Fish and Sting Rays.
Over all, the whole trip was an unforgettable adventure. Vacations are really great because they can give you perspective on the truly important things in life and the reasons why we work hard, so we can play hard and enjoy the most incredible experiences. I hope you all had a fun spring break and have fun working for the best experiences in life!
From the Heart,
Rachel
