The Inaugural Thirst Gala

I recently attended an amazing and inspiring event called the Thirst Gala. The purpose of the event was to raise both money and awareness about the world’s clean water crisis. What does that mean? Well, I learned that 1.1 billion people don’t have access to clean drinking water. That is crazy. The horrible part is that children die from the lack of clean water, and that alone inspired me and hopefully many others to commit time and money to help.

Be sure to visit http://www.thirstproject.org/the-problem/ to better understand this worthy cause.

The great news is that there are so many dedicated people working to raise money and who actually go to different places and help put in wells that access clean water. The Thirst Project creator and director, Seth Maxwell, is only in his 20s, but he is mature and inspiring. The evening was hosted by AnnaLynne McCord, who is incredibly dedicated to the Thirst Project. Other amazing people who attended are Drake Bell, Mitchel Musso, Heather Morris, Naya Rivera, and Ken Baumann.

The evening was beautiful from start to finish. I was thrilled to wear a beautiful Sue Wong design to this black-tie event. Visit www.suewong.com to see an amazing and fun website and to check out her amazing designs.

During the evening, an auction was held and Seth and AnnaLynne raised enough money in about 20 minutes to build four new wells to save lives. It was so inspiring! Check out the Thirst Project and make a difference.

From the heart,

Rachel
